Angelina - called Cinderella in this opera - is looking for happiness in life and in love. Thus, she refuses the prince because she has fallen in love with his servant (who in reality of courseturns to be the real prince).
Like his comedies "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" and "L'Italiana in Algeri", Rossini’s (1792-1868) operas are filled with exciting ensembles and virtuoso arias.
The famous Dutch Antilles mezzo-soprano Tania Kross interprets the role of Angelina.
