In the bustling Paris of the eighteenth century there was always something to do: music at the French courts, opera in the city, public concerts or long running troubadours.
Musica Amphion will let us hear a sample of what, at that time, was played in chamber music field in the French capital city.
The Barok Ensemble was founded in 1993 by harpsichord and recorder player Pieter-Jan Belder and is dedicated to the performance of orchestral and chamber music from the 17th and 18th century on original instruments. The coming seasons include a number of concert tours, and Musica Amphion will be ‘orchestra in residence’ at Musis Sacrum in Arnhem for the 2010 season.
